Things everyone can do
Simple things everyone can do…
1. Use cloth kitchen towels and napkins or at the very least half-sheet recycled paper towels. If you are just wiping your counter top or appliance off, rinse them out and use them again…
2. Get a water filter or refill dispenser jugs vs. single-serve, single use plastic bottles.
3. Shop in bulk to save packaging and money. Look for grains, beans cereals, pasta and snacks.
4. Reusable shopping bags and not just at the grocery store, take your reusable bags everywhere you would need help carrying something home.
5. Brown bag it; make and take your lunch and avoid the cost of fast food and the calories. You can also avoid the waste of single-use packaging or take out containers.
6. Mix your own healthier soda by combining two parts mineral water to one part real juice. Less calories and less throw away containers.
7. Vacuum your refrigerator coils 3 or 4 times a year more often than that if you have pets.
8. Wash clothes in cold water (I continue to preach this)
9. Make your own eco-friendly cleaners; easier on the environment and also helps reuse old containers.
10. Stop using that clothes dryer, use natures drier instead if you don’t have access to an outside clothes line get yourself a clothes drying rack for the inside and place your laundry on it before bed. In the morning everything’s dry and ready to be put away.
